I am a researcher in Artificial Intelligence for healthcare in the eHealth lab at Fondazione Bruno Kessler (Trento – Italiy). I received my Ph.D. at University of Trento in 2018 with a thesis on the integration of logics and machine learning for Semantic Image Interpretation. My research mainly focuses on virtual agents (or softbot) able to recognize the health state of a person and give suggestions to improve it. In the specific, I work on the psychological disorders and dietary domains.
I love integrating the main ways of human reasoning: deduction and induction. This translates in adding the semantics to the powerful machine learning techniques leading to more intelligent and trustable by humans machines.
My expertise encompasses the fields of knowledge representation (ontologies and fuzzy logic), machine/deep learning, computer vision and explainable Artificial Intelligence.
